The December Mission of the Month is the Salvation Army Angel Tree. Angel Tree matches donors with children from qualified families to ensure children receive gifts and clothing during the holidays.
Our tree is located in the narthex of the church. To participate please take one or more Angels from the tree. The girls have a red ribbon and the boys a green. We have these Angels available early in order for you to have enough time to fulfill the wishes on the card.
- Purchase age- and gender-appropriate toys, clothing, and/or special needs items as listed on the coded section of the Angels. You don’t have to purchase what is on the tag. These are just some wishes that the mother has requested.
- Return your unwrapped gifts by December 16 with the coded section of the Angel attached to the item.
- The Outreach team will deliver the gifts to the Salvation Army for you.
On Wednesday November 16th, we will be packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child after our supper. Please join us and bring items or shoeboxes. See Traci if you have any questions, items can be dropped off in church office or brought with you Wednesday night.

On Saturday, October 22nd, both Limestone Presbyterian Church and Buford Street United Methodist Church will be hosting a yard sale to benefit the WORD youth and children’s program. Donations of items including clothing, toys, appliances, books, linens, and many other types will be accepted in the coming weeks. Drop-offs will be accepted at both churches, but larger items will need to be taken to Buford Street. The sale will begin at 6 AM and continue until 11 AM. This will accommodate anyone who wishes to also help at the Soup Kitchen mission work on the same day. There will also be a bake sale hosted by the churches, and proceeds of the bake sale will be evenly split between the two. Volunteers are needed to help on both Saturday morning and the Friday before as we set up tables and begin placing some of the items. If you are able to help for any amount of time, please contact Will Gibbons at firstname.lastname@example.org or at church.
